2010 brings on a whole new decade for those of us who are passionate about fly fishing to expand on our experiences and adventures.  Georgia Women FlyFishers will have opportunities to revisit our favorite streams, ponds and lakes: to be introduced to beautiful new fishing waters; and, to share our passion for fly fishing with new members, youth groups and others who have only dreamed about fly fishing.

There will be at least three club group trips this year beginning with our April trip to Waynesville, NC.  The other two will be scheduled later in the year.  Each month there will be a fishing day within driving distance of Atlanta.  These fishing days are opportunities for everyone to fish and for beginners to have mentoring help from our more experienced fly fishers.

We will be hosting our Casting for Confidence event at Frog Hollow again this year in the fall.  This is an introduction to fly fishing for breast cancer survivors.  In 2009 there were 22 participants and even more volunteers.  Sharing with our participants in one of our CFC events is something we all treasure.

In March Georgia Women FlyFishers will introduce fly fishing to the Girl Scouts of Historic Georgia.  In April we will be volunteers for the Fly Fishing for Vets Day.  Many of us will help with Unicoi Out-door Adventure Day in September where families are introduced to and participate in many out-door activities.

Obviously, we participate in many fly fishing activities but in addition we offer instruction for our members and for non-members.  Our Beginner Fly Fishing Class and Intermediate Fly Fishing Class are scheduled for April.  Just check out the information under Clinics and let us know if you have questions.

Our Mardi Gras Party is on February 20th at SweetWater Brewing Company.  This is our annual fundraiser event which makes all of Georgia Women FlyFisher activities and events financially possible.  See details under Events and come join us.
